Passed in: Marion Bridge, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: March 11th, 2010
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Annie MacLeod of Sandfield Road, Marion Bridge at home on Thursday, March 11, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Stirling, Richmond Co., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Patterson) MacLeod.
She was a member of Bethel United Church, Marion Bridge, a life member of the UCW and former member of the Breton Bay Auxiliary. Annie dedicated her life to her family putting her own aspirations aside so they could attain their own dreams. She taught us how to be giving and loving and led by example. She took great pleasure in berry picking, gardening, crafts, and her baking was second to none. We will miss here energy and enthusiasm.
Surviving are her daughters, Chris (Bryden) MacKinnon, Sydney, Joan (Joe) Brennan, Ottawa, Wilma (David) Noseworthy, Skir Dhu, John (Sonny) (Maureen) MacLeod, Marion Bridge, Kenna (Charlie) Moore, Ottawa, and Janice (Ken) Ferguson, Marion Bridge. She is also survived by sisters, Catherine Biron, Mary Effie MacPherson, Mary Margaret Munroe; brother, William Mac Leod; sister-in-law, Eleanor MacLeod; 12grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Annie was predeceased by her husband, Willard, in 1993, a sister, Dolena Tremblay, brother, Sam MacLeod, and her grandson, Andrew.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service for the late Annie MacLeod will be held at Bethel United Church, Marion Bridge, on Sunday, at 3 p.m. with Nancy Whitney, DLM, officiating. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
Condolences may be sent to the family at sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
We will miss you.
