Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, March 14, 2010, John J. O’Keefe, Retired CN Station Agent of Harbour Grace, age 83 years. Predeceased by wife Sheila; parents Daniel and Bridget; brothers: Ron, Frank, Edmund and Charles; sister Marie Lee. Leaving to mourn special nieces and nephews: Dianne Lee, Truro, NS, Kathy Alyward, Conception Bay South, Dan White, Harbour Grace and Andy White, Ottawa; sisters-in-law: Dorothy O’Keefe, Massachusetts, Betty O’Keefe, Pennsylvania, Helen O’Keefe, St. John’s, Ruby O’Keefe, Placentia, Helen (Cyril) White, Harbour Grace, Betty (Joe) Southwell, Carbonear, Mamie Penney (Jim Carey), Florida, Patricia Haegel, Ottawa and Patricia Hearn, Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law: Terry (Beth) Hearn, Ottawa and Reg (Michelle) Hearn, Wabush, Labrador; special friends: Sean (Joanne) O’Brien and family, Harbour Grace; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
