Passed away suddenly April 18th, 2009, aged 65. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y, with strong ties to Northern Bay. Predeceased by his parents John and Betty. He will be deeply missed by his best friend and loving wife Marilyn, sister Muriel Seiler (Jack), children: Mark (Teresa), Jennifer Monroy (José), Nora Miller (Emett), and stepchildren: Peter Avery (Andrea), Roger Avery (Natalie), and Kristi Briffett (Greg). Also mourning are aunt Molly and friends and relatives in Brooklyn, as well as friends in Virginia. Left with many wonderful memories are his playmates and grandchildren: Katlin, Makayla, Celia, Lucas, Maura, Josephine, Joshua, Sam, Claudia, Thomas, Ben and Victoria. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service to take place at Hopkins Funeral Home, Northern Bay, on Thursday immediately following visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army Red Shield Campaign.
