The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, April 23, 2009, of Kenneth MacGregor MacLean of Summerside, and formerly of Lot 16, in his 91st year. Ken was born on June 23, 1918, in Central Lot 16 to his late parents, Roy and Isabel (MacGregor) MacLean. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary (Marchbank) MacLean, and twin daughters, Gloria MacLean of Australia and Gail Archibald of New Minas, N.S., and son, Roy, at home. Also lovingly remembered by sister, Marjorie Underwood of Halifax, N.S., sister-in-law, Jean Burch of Charlottetown, son-in-law, Dr. David Large of Port Joli, N.S., aunt, Doris Carr of St. Eleanors, grandchildren: Peter (Deidre) Large of Waterloo, Ont., Phillip (Nancy) Large of Toronto, Ont., Adam MacLean of Toronto, Ont., five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by daughter, Marilyn Large, sister, Gwen MacNutt, and brother, Donald MacLean. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Sunday, April 26, 2009, then to Lot 16 United Church for funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ken’s memory to Lot 16 United Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice would be greatly accepted.
