It is with tremendous sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of a treasured mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to all that knew her, Marjorie Spurrell, aged 63 years. On Sunday, May 3, 2009, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer, she passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s in the loving arms of and surrounded by her family. Marjorie was passionate, kind and loving and will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her large family and circle of friends. Predeceased by her husband Kevin Spurrell, son Paul Spurrell, grandson Kevin, Crann, parents Robert and Edna Crann, mother-in-law Mary Spurrell, brother Rayfield Crann. Leaving to mourn daughter Barbara Crann (Wade); son Michael Spurrell (Maligne); two grandchildren: Robert Spurrell and Sophia Marie Crann; father-in-law Arthur Spurrell; sisters: Anne Jarvis (George), Rita Butler (Harry), Jean Sanders (Joe), Dorothy Spurrell (Fred), Mabel Crann (Ellwood), Maisie Gollop (Jim), Roslyn Kelly (Tony) and Sandra Gow (Randy); brothers-in-law: Hughie Spurrell (Beverly), Leon Spurrell (Joanne), Terry Spurrell (Wanda), Randy Spurrell (Diane), Geoff Spurrell and Shawn Spurrell (Norma); sisters-in-law: Blanche Stringer (Alfred), Patsy Soper (Stan), Christine Seaward, Karen Sutherland (Angus), Norma Baker and Denise Pottle (Rod). Resting at St. Paul’s by the Sea United Church, Fair Haven. A funeral service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s by the Sea United Church, Fair Haven. All family and friends are welcome. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Marjorie’s honor in care of her daughter Barbara Crann then to be entrusted to charities close to Marjorie’s heart.
