
Rose Marie Ruest
RUEST - Rose-Marie Cecile of Admiral, Saskatchewan, passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Monday, April 12 at the age of 55 years. Rose Marie was born at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on August 24, 1954 and attended school at Frenchville and Admiral schools. She farmed with her brother and father at Admiral, Saskatchewan and took a keen interest in the operation. There were many lively conversations about marketing and pricing. She also had a partnership in a cattle venture with her niece and a great love for gardening and especially her fruit trees. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish and took a keen interest in each and every person who touched her life and always made them feel welcome. She loved to go fishing and would spend hours waiting for the perfect catch. Rose Marie's life was devoted to the service of God and her church. She was profoundly proud of her family and took great interest in what they did. She was a great caregiver and devoted her time and energy to caring for her mother. She also sponsored many World Vision foster children. She is survived by her father Hector Ruest; her brother Marcel (Linda); her sisters Aline (Mervin) Backstrom and Jo-Anne King; her special nieces and nephews who were very dear to her, Celia (Joseph) Kunze and Victoria, Sabrina Ruest, Amber Ruest, Bobbi (Trevor) Backstrom, Brian Backstrom, Kevin King and Kristina King. Rose Marie was predeceased by her mother Cecile Ruest; paternal grandparents Leon and Lea Ruest and maternal grandparents Joseph and Rose Anna Couture; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 2:00 pm from Holy Family Church in Admiral, Saskatchewan with Father Rick Krofchek officiating. The organist was Margaret Klein, Laurianne Douville sang a solo, eulogy was shared by Jo-Anne King, usher was Leon Ruest, altar server was Dan Ruest, crossbearer was Bobbi Backstrom and Linda Ruest did a reading. Pallbearers included Amber Ruest, Sabrina Ruest, Joseph Kunze, Kevin King, Kristina King, and Brian Backstrom. The interment service was held at Frenchville Cemetery, Frenchville, Saskatchewan. The family would appreciate memorial donations in Rose Marie's name to go to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Valtchenova and Unit 2 staff at the Cypress Regional Hospital, to special friends Helen Laturnus and Clemence Entem along with everyone associated with Rose Marie's life.
