Jacqueline LeBlanc
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Mary LeBlanc, age 64 of Amherst, Nova Scotia on May 24, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Surrey, England, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Nora Ralph. As a young girl, Jackie grew up in Ontario and she enjoyed competing in public speaking, drawing and synchronized swimming. After moving to Amherst, Jackie and husband Carl owned and operated Acadian Printing for 40 years. She also did graphic design for the business and became an accomplished, albeit, very humble artist. She will always be remembered for her award winning design of the Amherst forefathers' Centennial logo. Jackie loved to paint in watercolours with her friends and would often donate her time and artwork for various charities. Over the years, she was a member of the Amherst Curling Club, Amherst Golf Club, the Tantramar Artist Association, the Sackville Art Association, the Red Hat group and was a fun loving member of the Seagrove Beach community.
Jackie was a devout Catholic and a loving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She very much enjoyed creating wonderful memories with her family and friends at the cottage, golfing, curling and playing bridge with the girls and snowmobiling to the camp.
Jackie is survived by her devoted husband Carl, of 44 years, sons: William (Jacqueline) Huskens of Baexem, The Netherlands, Kelly (Karin) LeBlanc of Riverview, New Brunswick; daughter Michelle (Tony) Wood of Amherst, Nova Scotia; grandchildren Ashley, Anna, Zoë, Charlotte, Cheyenne and Chayton; a brother Jim (Glen) Ralph of Fort Myers, Florida; and three sisters: Jean (Michael) Greenough of Granbury, Texas, Laurie Markham of Mississauga, Ontario and Judy (Charlie) Bonifacio of Oakville, Ontario; brothers-in-law: Grant (Lisa) LeBlanc of Bradford, Ontario, Gary LeBlanc of Toronto, and sisters-in-law, Norma (Bob) Langille of Newmarket, Ontario and Sharon (Max) LeBlanc of Elmsvale, Ontario; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents, an infant son, David, her sister Pamela, mother and father-in-law, Kelly and Annie LeBlanc, brother-in-law Ricky LeBlanc and niece Christine Ralph.
Jackie was much loved and admired and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
