Peter Rennie Heggie, of Green Hill, NB, husband of Marlene Bernice Andrews, passed away on May 18, 2010, at the age of 66, at his home. Born on May 27, 1943 in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Rennie Harry Heggie and Eleanor Gertrude Bustin. Peter was retired from the Canadian Armed Forces and had postings in Petawawa, ON, Egypt, Trenton, ON and Oromocto, NB. Peter and Marlene spent most of their married life in the Fredericton area, where they operated a dairy and grain farm. From a young age, Peter enjoyed farming, classical music, checking out the latest vehicles and finding a good restaurant. He and Marlene made numerous trips to visit their children and friends in the U.S., Kenya and throughout Canada. Road trips were truly an adventure. Peter was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Fredericton, NB, where he enjoyed hearing and studying God's Word. In the past weeks, friends and family from all over the world and the community have pampered him with visits, telephone calls and favourite foods. He considered himself to be very blessed. In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by two daughters, Deanna (Michael) Gaudaur of Kijabe, Kenya and Jennifer (Jason) Stinson of Innisfail, Alberta; three sons, Peter Kirk Heggie (Dianne Moran) of Simpsonville, SC; Andrew Heggie (Rhoda Younker) of Charlottetown, PEI and Ian Heggie (Kristi Setchell) of Calgary, AB; eight grandchildren, Jacob and Breanna Gaudaur, Abigail Stinson, Tyler and Mylie Heggie, Josiah, Kalina and Kian Heggie; five step grandchildren, David, Tiffany, Lisa, Jenni and Steven; one sister, Sharon (Robert) Hennessy; one brother, Stephen Heggie (Christine Doyle); nieces, Michaela and Kelly; nephews, Liam and Michael. In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sister, Susanne Carole Heggie. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. Doug Adamson officiating and Rev. Terry Woodcock assisting. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at Oak Point Baptist Cemetery, Kings Co., NB, following the service. Remembrances may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Association, Canadian Diabetes Association, Living Waters Bible Camp, Danforth, Maine or the charity of the donor's choice.
