It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerry Russell announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Monday, September 13th at the age of 81 years. He will be dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Cavell, his sons: Paul of Picton, Ontario and John (Paula) and Poppa's "pride and joy" granddaughters Taylor and Erin, all of Clarenville. Also left with fond and loving memories are his only brother, Bruce (Cordella) and their children; Lorin (daughter Jyssika), Phil, Mary-Lou (Darrell, daughter Tatyana), Jim and Anna (Jake), as well as special family friend Mark Madsen and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place at Russell's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:00 and on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Pentecostal Church with Pastor Moral Bess officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted or donations in Gerry's memory can be made to the Gideon's International.
