Allen "Edison" Stairs of Woodstock passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at the age of 85. Edison is survived by two sons Allen E. Stairs (Cathrine Nelson) of Takoma Park, MD; Peter J. Stairs (Phyllis C. Daigle) Woodstock, NB; three grandchildren Geoffrey Allen Stairs, Alexander Stairs and Jenelle Stairs; one brother Conard Stairs; two nephews Gary Stairs and Glenn Stairs; Ed was predeceased by his parents Earl and Ethel (Corey) Stairs; and his wife Lois.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gil MacKenzie will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
