It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda on Oct. 9, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Mella (Bennett) O'Leary.
Linda worked in the food industry for over 30 years including Jaspers, Tim Hortons and more recently, Jack Rudy's. She was a member of St. Joseph's parish, Reserve Mines.
Spending time with her family and friends was her passion. She was a very fun loving and compassionate individual who touched the lives of many. Her short time on this earth is testament that she was a loving and much loved person.
Linda is survived by her longtime partner, Randy Smith; her siblings, Gerry (Terry), Mary (Freddie), Greg (Viola), Brian (Patricia), Debbie, Raylene (Bernie), Patti (Leonard); her godchild, Cindy (Chris); special girls, Tiffany and Dawn; and her four-legged babies, Casey and Annabelle. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gayle Adshade, Linda (Horne); and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Ted, Gerard and Joe, and sister-in-law, Virginia (MacLellan).
In honoring Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Reserve Mines with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, MacLeod's Road. A reception will follow at the parish hall.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Cape Breton Regional Palliative Care Unit.
