1918 - 2010 - Thelma Chesser passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, October 16, 2010 with her granddaughter Jennifer by her side. Born in Chatham, NB only child of the late Will and Lily (Ross) Smith. She was a founding member of The Moncton Lionette's Club. Worked for T. Eaton's Company for many years and also worked as a volunteer for the CNIB. She will be sadly missed by her son, Dr. Gary (Yvonne) Chesser, three grandchildren, Jan Chesser (Stephen Finnegan), Jon (Jodi) Chesser and Jennifer (Shawn) Pope, eight great grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Jayden, Jenna, Abygail, Emma, Josie and Laura. Besides her parents, Thelma was predeceased by husband Karl Chesser (1976).
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Remembrances in Thelma memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.
