GRAVES, Robert John
(1953-2010)
It is with great sadness that we announce his passing on October 16th, 2010 in Kyle, Sk after a brave and courageous fight with Cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Jennie and Ray Graves. Bob's life will live on and forever be remembered by his life partner Christine; children Chad (Tanya and her daughter Sophie); Jade (Ryan) Boyenko; Brothers Darrel (Jean); Dana (Denise); sister Rhonda (Derek); Mother of his children Jeannette; nieces, nephews, many friends and his four legged companion, Memphis. Bob was born in Saskatoon December 26th, 1953 and grew up on a farm in Vanscoy-Grandora area. He attended Vanscoy Public School, Delisle Composite High, and Aden Bowman Collegiate. He became an RCMP officer in 1973 and was stationed in Carnduff, Carrot River, North Battleford, Saskatoon and retired in Kyle in 1997, but never really quit working. He drove truck, worked on restoring his character home on the ranch, skidooing, skiing, fishing, riding his Harley, road trips to BC, camping in the 5th wheel with Christine, family and friends. Bob was one of the best handymen around with a very creative mind. He knew how to use every tool and could build, fix and refurbish anything you could think of. He had several ideas over the years that he brought to life. From home reno's/demo's, electrical, welding, woodworking, upholstery, to his biggest and proudest project, the houseboat he built from scratch. His celebration of life will take place at Kyle Elk's Community Hall Friday October 22nd at 2:00 pm. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff at the Kyle Health Centre for their exceptional care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation (Box 309 S'toon, Sk S7K 3L3) or Kyle Health Centre Palliative Care (Box 70 Kyle, Sk S0L 1T0) . Arrangements have been entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home, 934-4888.
