THERRIEN - Annette Marie of Ponteix, SK passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK at the age of 86 years. Annette was born on October 25, 1923. She attended Notre Dame East rural school to grade nine then took grades ten and eleven at Notre Dame Convent. She married Lionel Therrien on April 9, 1947 in Ponteix. Together they raised a family of seven children. Annette, in addition to looking after the home and children, took time to look after sick and elderly people in her own home. Annette was a member of several clubs including the Catholic Women's League, Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Les Dames Canadiennes Francois. Her hobbies included gardening, playing cards, bingo, reading and most importantly watching her children and grandchildren playing hockey. Annette leaves to mourn her memory: children; Felix (Toni), Roland (Hazel), Hector, and Clement (Marilyn) Therrien and Lise (Robert) Dixon; daughter-in-law Janice Therrien; grandchildren Neil, Simone, Roland, Kevin, Chris, Nicole, Cory, Kim, Kurt, Wendy and April as well as her great grandchildren; brothers Fernand (Jeanne), Robert and Lionel; sisters Bernadette (Emile) and Dianne (John). Annette was predeceased by her husband Lionel, sons Denis and Alain and daughter-in-law Beverly. Funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Ponteix SK with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. The Eulogy was read by Robert Dixon and the organist was Daniel Roberge. Pallbearers were Roland Therrien, Kevin Therrien, Chris Therrien, Cory Therrien, Kim Dixon and Kurt Dixon. Interment service took place at Notre Dame Parish Cemetery, Ponteix, SK. In memory of Annette, memorial donations may be sent to Bridges Personal Care Center, Ponteix, SK or to a charity of the donor's choice. Lemieux Funeral Home was in care of arrangements.
