We, the family of the late Colin "Collie" Francis MacDonald wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our relatives, friends and neighbours for the kindness and support shown during our recent loss. To all those who visited and brought food to our homes, phoned, e-mailed, sent mass cards, flowers, spiritual enrolments, memorials, charitable and monetary donations, we thank you. We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital along with the doctors and ICU staff of the Glace Bay Hospital for the excellent care given during our father's illness. To Dr. Raed Azer, thank you for your many years of care. To our father's special caregiver, Sheila MacLean, your dedication, compassion and friendship will never be forgotten. The family wishes to thank Father Doug MacDonald for your visit to the hospital and the beautiful service and eulogy celebrating our father's life. To the eucharistic ministers and altar services our special thanks. To the readers, daughter-in-law, Barbara MacDonald, family friend, Sheila MacLean; the gift bearers, granddaughters Angela Douglas, Jennifer Graveline and Michelle Tatlock, thank you. Our sincerest thanks also to the pallbearers, grandsons, Robert Tighe, Paul, Mark and David MacDonald, Jeffrey Tatlock and son-in-law, Derek Tatlock. We are deeply appreciative to St. Leonard's choir and to Nipper MacLeod for providing the beautiful songs that touched all of our hearts. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for your prayers at the funeral home and for providing the honor guard. To the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary thank you for providing the beautiful lunch. We would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home for their compassion and kindness shown to our family during this difficult time. To all who helped in any way, your kindness will always be remembered and is sincerely appreciated.
