
Peter Petrovich
PETROVITCH, Captain Peter-Surrounded by his loving family Captain Peter Petrovitch of Saint John, passed away at the Saint John Residential Hospice on November 25, 2010. Born 1927 in Saskatoon, SK to the late Michael and Anna (Kisil) Petrovitch. Peter was the Captain of the Princess of Acadia for over 25 years and was a WWII Veteran serving on Merchant Navy Ships. He also worked at Commercial Cable and Western Union, and he was a member of Masonic Lodge No.8, Scottish Rite, RCL Jervis Bay, Company of Masters Mariners, Ardent Target Shooting, River Valley Sporting Association and Operator of Amateur Radio No. VE1 CPP. Peter was a devoted family man who loved and cherished his family, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by son Darren (Angela); daughter Shelley Thibodeau (Raymond) both of Saint John; precious grandchildren Devin, Dylan, Bruce, Nick and Skyler; brother Maurice of Calgary, AB; two sisters Mary Stachniak of Saskatoon, SK and Sylvia Waliduda of Prince Albert, SK; nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Marion (Conrad) Petrovitch in 1993; brother Steven and sister Helen Demnaenko.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday, November 27th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, November 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Masonic Tribute Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be held from St. Mary St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 646 Westmorland Rd. on Monday November 29th at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment to take place at Cedar Hill Ext. at a later date.
