VEITCH, Anita – December 3, 1950 - October 16, 2008. Passed gracefully away in the presence of family and friends, at her home in Colliers, Anita Mary Veitch, retired teacher. Predeceased by her parents Greg and Josephine Veitch and her sisters-in-law Kathy and Barbara Veitch. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband of twenty-five years, John Ryan; her sister Marie Mazure (Ron), Hardesty, Alberta; her brothers Bill, The Pas, Manitoba; Jerry, Michael, Greg (Joan), John (Trudy), Pat (Rose), all of Holyrood; her sister-in-law Marie Hunt (Brendan); her brother-in-law Jim (Gail), Wainwright, Alberta and numerous Veitch, Mazure, Hunt and Ryan nephews and nieces. She also leaves special friends Rosemary Lahey, Montreal; Catherine, Stephanie and Sheila McDonald and a wonderful circle of friends from the neighborhood on the Ridge, Colliers; her co-workers and friends from her teaching career at Roncalli and her days in the theatre. She leaves countless students whom she touched in special ways over the years. She is remembered as a wonderful teacher and a talented actor and is especially remembered for her role as Miss Emma at Hawthorne Cottage, Brigus. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers, on Monday, October 20 at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Colliers.
