Sokolovic - Murat (Tom) passed away peacefully at his home in Ernfold on July 22, 2009, at the age of 83. He immigrated to Canada in the late 50's. A private family graveside service was held at the Ernfold Cemetery, Friday July 24, 2009 with his son Ike officiating. Pallbearers were Ike, Helmut and Nick Sokolovic, Mustafa and Jay Agushi, Ron Woods and Cody Haubrich. Tom is survived by his wife Surraja (Lilly); daughter Sophia (Mustafa)and their children: Saliha, daughters Sabina and Isabella, Jay, Sophie (Brad), their daughter Brianna;l son Ike (Meta) and his children Andrew, Dayna; son Helmut and his daugther Terra and children; daughter Heidy (Sandy), her daughter Samantha (Ken) thier children Jordynn and Jessica; Tom's daughter Haj (Ron ) their daughter Reanna (Cody). From Tom's first marriage his son Nurko (Nick) (Ifeta) their children Osman, Anisa and Selma and Nick's daughter Sabina, his daughter Fatima(Tom) their children Amina and family, Amy, Jasmina and Tommy, daughter Sevka (Ibro)their son Dino. Tom is survived by his brother Kasim (Zahida)their daughter Aida(Asmi), their children Ada and Adnan, their daughter Amela (Vlado)their children Dennis and Eddie. Tom is survived by his sisters Maida and Rameza and their families and other numerous relatives in Yugoslavia. Tom is predeceased by his parents; mother Shaharezada and father Hamdo, also his first wife Munira. Tom and Surraja moved to Saskatchewan 33 years ago. He was a carpenter by trade and received his joureyman's status from the province of Saskatchewan in 1978. He was a hard worker, working at his trade all over in various provinces. Their present house was also built by Tom. He had a loving passion for the outdoors and especially his gardens, where he spent most of his days. He was well known thoughout all the communities and enjoyed chatting with all the folks. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial service will be held at the Ernfold Community Hall on Saturday, August 8th at 2:00 PM. In Tom's memory donations may go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
