Curtis North passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the age of 65. He was born and educated in Moose Jaw. Curt married the love of his life Carol Chamberlain on June 29th, 1968. To this union 2 children were born. Curt was an electrician by trade which took him to various places in Canada. He was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was “Mr. Fix It†and could repair anything. Curt could often be found at AJ’s garage, tinkering on his truck and visiting AJ Hansen and Bill Tighe Sr. He had a love of music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He especially loved playing in the present band, Stagecoach, with band members Joe Morin, Ivan Brideau, Shayna Overs, and Al Gould.On Fridays he enjoyed coffee row and on Saturday mornings he looked forward to breakfast with long-time friends, Bob Glassford and Dale Schick. Curt was a hardworking honest man who didn’t take anything for granted.He was a special “Poppa†to Tayler and Kierran and also loved his granddog Rocky. Curt will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.He was predeceased by his father Gerald; brother Gary; stepmother Kay; stepfather Louis Lemieux; father-in-law & mother-in-law Cliff and Tillie Chamberlain; sister-in-law Char Erickson. Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol; daughter Cara (Neil) Redpath and their son Tayler of Melita, MB.; son Cory and his daughter Kierran of Moose Jaw; mother Dorothea Lemieux of Moose Jaw; sisters: Evelyn McCormack of Moose Jaw and Gerri (Don) Downey of Medicine Hat; brothers: Jim (Judy) McCormack of Moose Jaw, Bob (Rhonda) McCormack of Quesnel, BC., and Kelvin (Sandi) North of Medicine Hat; 3 sisters-in-law Maryann North of Moose Jaw, Shirley Closs of Moose Jaw, and Adele (Gary) Williams of Moose Jaw; 5 brothers-in-law: Dennis (Bev) Chamberlain of Moose Jaw, Don (Louise) Chamberlain of Moose Jaw, Barry (Dee) Chamberlain of Moose Jaw, Brad (Jolene) Chamberlain of Moose Jaw, and Harry (Audrey) Erickson of Moose Jaw; also numerous nieces, nephews, union brothers, and fellow musicians. A come & go time of fellowship and remembering will be held at the Moose Jaw Eagles Club 561 Home Street West on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 1:00 till 4:00 pm.
