Bernard was born on the family farm on June 28, 1925. He attended the Jack Creek School. He was a self-employed farmer, and on July 7, 1952 he was united in marriage to Rachael Mackin in Melaval United Church. The couple farmed, ranched and raised their family in the Hazenmore District. Bernard was also very active in the community as President of the South Rural telephone company, leader and parent of the Aneroid 4-H Beef Club, the Snow Plough Club, Hazenmore Elks, Barbershop Chorus of Swift Current in Mesa, Arizona, founding member of the Mankota Stockmens' Weigh Company and a long time member of the Saskatchewan and International Flying Farmer, which was his life's passion. He flew with Rachael and many friends all over North America. When his feet where on the ground, he raised Hereford cattle, attended bull sales, farmed, ranched and rode horses. Aside from all of that, Bernard also enjoyed oil painting, woodworking, singing, auction and garage sales, hunting and fishing, where he made special trips with Fisherman 9, golfing, dancing playing cribbage and building the cabin at the Sask Landing. His family was always first. Bernard loved, above all else, not only the children he fathered and the son that came to him from Quebec, but also the family he grew up with and family he inherited by marriage. Bernard loved to visit with everyone, telling stories and reminiscing. He enjoyed working with his Hereford cattle as well as farming and loved to watch everything grow. Two things we know about Bernard for sure, the equipment was John Deere green and the vehicles had to be Ford tough. In his memory, friend may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Charity of the Donor's Choice. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
