DWIGHT GORDON TISDALE
December 13, 1949 – September 11, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dwight on Friday, September 11, 2009. He is survived by his wife Judi (nee Cugnet) Tisdale; son Aaron (Shaunna Stark) Tisdale of Regina; daughter Denise (Justin) Bailey and his grandsons Jacob and Tyson of Yellowknife, NT; son Bryan (Dawn) Tisdale and grandson Aaron of Courtenay, BC; sister-in-law Audrey (Doug) Court of Las Vegas, Nevada and their children Jason of Weyburn and Cara of Prince Albert; brother-in-law Kim (Pam) Cugnet and their children Jaimie, Mitch and Mark of Cochrane, AB; his aunts Mabel Tisdale of Midale, SK and Nellie O’Connor of Regina, SK and many other aunts, uncles and cousins; his four-legged friend and companion “Buffy” the dog. He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Velma Tisdale; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and Ruth Cugnet. Dwight was born on December 13, 1949 in Midale, SK and received his public and high school education in Regina and also helped to support his family as his dad passed away when Dwight was only sixteen. He furthered his education at the U of S, obtaining a degree in Business Administration. Dwight worked in various towns in BC and Saskatchewan for Rural Municipalities for many years. The chance of a lifetime came up for him to become the CEO and set up one of the first Home Care areas in the province, which were Weyburn and Estevan districts; this he did for about twenty-two years. Later on he took on the job in Creston, BC as CEO for the Endicott Centre, an institution for physical and mentally challenged people. Dwight and Judi moved back to Saskatchewan and took up residence in Prince Albert in the fall of 1998. One of Dwight’s projects at this time was to get a brew-on-premise in Saskatchewan like BC and Ontario had. This process was slow to move ahead, but became a reality in April 2009. In 2002, Dwight suffered from Renal failure and dialysis became a necessary factor in his life. Dwight spear-headed a province wide movement towards Hemodialysis which allows renal patients more freedom. This came to fruition in 2009. Dwight’s hobbies were model trains, old cars and travel. A Celebration of Dwight’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Reverend Tony Thompson will officiate. It is the family’s request that in lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Renal Unit at the Victoria Hospital. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lesley Sully, Funeral Director
