Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home on Sunday, October 11, 2009, of Gerard L. (Gerry) Rutten, Crapaud, age 73 years.
Beloved husband of Nellie (nee Appeldoorn). Loving father to his children Marilyn Parnes (Dr. Lorne), Martin (Jackie) and Mark. Devoted grandfather to Aaron, Jason and Jordan. Eldest brother of John, Jake, Peter, Denise, Charlie, Joe, Theo and Vonnie. Brother-in-law of Anna, Kingston, Ont.; Tiny, Harry, Billa (Harry) and Nelly, all of the Netherlands.
Predeceased by his parents, Martin and Hendrika Rutten; by his brother, Martin; and by his sister, Catherine, all of Australia.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Visitation Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Island Wesleyan Church.
