KRAHN - It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Anna Krahn. She passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2009, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Anna was born on October 17, 1922, to Henry and Anna Froese at Blumenhof, SK. She married John Krahn in 1946, and they were blessed with three children, Dennis (Marilyn) Krahn, Eleanor (Neil) Peters, Doug (Kate Kewish) Krahn; her grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Staley, Michael Krahn and mother Linda Krahn, Jolene (Mike) Giesbrecht, Jocelyn (Jay) Lamotte and Alyssa Krahn; her great-grandchildren, Chance, Kole and Tai; her sisters, Betty and Kay; and her brothers, Hank and Bob. Anna was predeceased by her husband, John; a grandson, Jeffrey; a sister, Helen; a brother, Red; and many in-laws and friends. She accomplished many things. She was a teacher, grain farmer, dairy farmer and of course a wonderful mother. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She retired with John in 1996. They moved to Swift Current and always maintained an active role in the church and her children’s lives. She loved to share her faith in God with anyone and memorizing Bible verses, the last one being Psalm 100 which was very important for her to accomplish. She also enjoyed having coffee with friends, knitting, crocheting, reading and playing games. Anna was a humble woman, she was recently told by a close friend that she was a special person, she replied by saying, “I am not a very special person, but I know someone who is.” Anna will be forever missed by her family and many friends. We Love You Mom. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at 2:00 pm from the Community Baptist Church, Swift Current, SK, with Rev. Martin Harder and Pastor Joell Haugan officiating. The pianist for the service was Loreen Wiebe. Scripture readings were read from Matthew 7:24-29, 1 Corinthians 13 and from 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17. “The Solid Rock”, “I Know Whom I Have Believed” and “What a Day That Will Be” were sung by the congregation. The eulogy and tributes were shared by Doug Krahn and Mike Giesbrecht and by a PowerPoint pictorial tribute. The ushers in the church were Bob Froese and Cal Volk. The Interment Service was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK, with the following serving as pallbearers, David Froese, Alfred Arendt, Alyssa Krahn, Mike Giesbrecht, Mike Krahn and Lance Froese. In memory of Anna Krahn, donations made to Teen Challenge would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
