George H. (Scotty) Sawers

WWII and Korean Veteran. Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, George Sawers (Scotty), aged 84 years. Predeceased by wife Marion, son Gordie. Leaving to mourn good friend and companion Margaret Thomson; six sons: Michael , Mel (Debbie), Teddy (Della), David (Sharon), George Jr. (Cathy), Raymond (Hilda); four daughters: Patsy, Gina, Donna Baker, Margie Wiseman (Leonard); sisters: Sadie Williams, Gladys Power, also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Thursday, November 19th and Friday, November 20th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Service to be held at Barrett’s Chapel on Saturday, November 21st at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. Interment will take place 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23rd at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in George’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
