Robert William Gray died on November 18th, 2006. He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Malcolmson) and his four daughters Susan Devick (Paul), Sandy Devick, Cindy Stewart and Robyn MacKenzie (Cameron); his eleven grandchildren, Alexander, David, and Michael Devick, William and Lindsay Devick, Blair, Robert, and Margo Stewart, Karli, Christine and Claire MacKenzie; his sister Ellen Fallon; his brother Ronald (Betsy); and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was born in 1926 in Chatham, Ontario. He was the first son of the late William Murray Gray and Gladys May (nee Elgie). He attended primary school in Chatham, then Ridley College in St. Catherine's, Ontario. He received his BA degree from McMaster University, then his degree in Law from OsGoode Hall. After being called to the Bar in British Columbia he practiced Law for thirty six years in Kamloops before retiring. He contributed his time and efforts to the community as Chairman of the first Kamloops United Appeal. He served on the board of directors of Kamloops Business Ventures, and contributed time to the Kamloops Bar Association. He was a member of the Lions Club, The Gyro Club and The Kamloops South Rotary Club. He was the Commodore of the Kamloops and District Yacht Club. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest which always included family activities such as camping, boating, fly fishing, golfing, skiing, and traveling. His major interests were woodworking, photography, and learning about computers. Over his lifetime he was intrigued with what made things work thus becoming 'Mr. Fix-it' for friends and family. He was a gregarious gentleman whose life was well lived. The family sincerely thanks the professional care givers and the many compassionate people who provided such strong support during this difficult time.
