Garrett, Janice Patricia Garrett, age 71 years, of Swift Current, Sk, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2009 from St Stephen's Anglican Church with The Reverend David Nevett officiating. The organist was Janet Neubaurer. A life tribute was given by her grand daughters, Lindsay Nylander and MacKenzie Garrett. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in her life. The interment service was held at the Pennant Cemetery. Janice was born in Gladstone, Man. On July 10, 1938. She married Richard Garrett on August 23, 1958. Janice worked at Francine's and the Southside Co-op until she retired in 1993. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the Tumbleweeds Quartet, and later with the Entertainers. In her spare time Janice enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, puzzles, singing, camping reading and crafts, and spending time with family and friends. She meant everything to her family and will be sadly missed. Janice is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dick (Richard) Garrett; her children Rick (Michele) Garrett, Perry (Myrna) Garrett, Tim (Bonnie) Garrett and Shannon (Tim) Johnson; grandchildren, Dustin (Erica) Garrett, Mackenzie (Miles), Lindsay (Tyler) Nylander and their son Madden, Sean, Rylee, Kassidy, Kennedy, Brittany, Savannah and Ryker. She is also survived by her brother Harvey (Bud) Woelke; sisters Irene Prosser and Flori McLean; brothers-in-law, Jack (Joyce) Garrett, Stuart (Mac) Garrett; sisters-in-law, Betty, Mabel and Frances Garrett and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Helen and Roy McLean; brothers Ron and Jim Woelke; father and mother-in-law, Howard and Christina Garrett; brothers-in-law, Bill, Bob, Harold and Don Garrett; and sister-in-law, Shirley Garrett. A special thank you to the nurses of Med-Surgery West, Unit 2 and to Dr. Tara Lee for their compassion, understanding and exceptional care provided to Janice. In her memory, friends may make a memorial donation to the Palliative Care Unit, C/O Dr. Nobel Irwin Health Care Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
