Peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital, on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, Norma M. Butts (nee MacDonald), formerly of Glace Bay, in her 83rd year, beloved wife of the late Daniel Butts.
Loving mother of Audrey Firth, Nolan and his wife Kim Butts, Jennifer and her husband Bill Jackson, Eric and his wife Charlene Butts. Cherished grandmother of Trevor Carabin, Timothy Butts, Alexandra Firth, Krista Butts, Garret Jackson, Daniel Butts and Thomas Butts. Dear sister of Ewan and Patsy MacDonald, Boston, Mass., Wendell and Shirley MacDonald, Baddeck, N.S., and predeceased by Thorald MacDonald and Connie Morrison.
Dear sister-in-law of Babe Madore.
Born in Glace Bay, Norma was the daughter of the late Norman and Hazel MacDonald.
She was a graduate of the General Hospital School of Nursing and a member of Epworth United Church. She worked as a registered nurse at Glace Bay General Hospital, Sydney City Hospital and St. Rita Hospital.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen St. S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213), Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, from 1-3 p.m. Followed by cremation. A memorial service will be held in Cape Breton during the summer.
