Passed in: British Columbia, Canada

BLAIR HOWARD NIXON It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Blair Howard Nixon who passed away peacefully, with his dog Cynder by his side, on October 6, 2008 in Kamloops. He is survived by his wife Peggy and daughters, Lauren, Kelsie and Brenna, his parents Lloyd and Rae Nixon, brothers Gary Nixon (Marcia) and Craig (Graham and Sarah), in-laws Bill and Shiz Omae, sisters-in-law Janie Kakuno (John, Tracey and Allison), and Dayle Norsworthy (Don and Kayla), several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Edith Nixon and sister-in-law Jacqueline Stewart. Blair enjoyed an incredibly full life: waterskiing and boating in the summer at Shuswap Lake and skiing at Tod Mountain in the winter, with many friends and family. Blair loved hockey, he was the goalie in endless shinny games. He was also an avid runner. He was very quick witted and never hesitated to joke and laugh with those he knew and loved. Blair graduated from Kam High in 1976 and continued his studies at U of C and UVIC, to fulfill his aspiration of becoming a lawyer. He graduated from law school in 1983 and was called to the Bar in 1984. He was dedicated to his profession and specifically to the causes of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. His colleagues recognized him as a compassionate yet fierce advocate for the little guy. Blair possessed a great respect for the law. He will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues and his clients. A Celebration of Blair’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Harry Bicknell officiating. Should friends desire, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 203 - 635 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B3 in memory Blair would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be expressed at www.schoenings.com Arrangements entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 250-374-1454
