DR. ANEEZ SHIRAZ MOHAMED (1977 - 2009) With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Aneez Mohamed, 31. Aneez will be remembered as a dedicated professional, a loving son and an inspiration to all. Born in London, Ontario on December 30, 1977, Aneez spent his formative years in Kamloops, British Columbia. There, he excelled in academia, athletics and the creative arts. After graduating from Kamloops Secondary School at the top of his class (1996), Aneez pursued further studies at the University of British Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (2000) and a Doctorate in Medicine (2004). At the time of his passing, Aneez was a highly-regarded senior fellow at the UBC Department of Cardiology. Outside of his career, Aneez had a passion for golf, cuisine and travel. His strengths lay in his modesty and his willingness to see the best in others. His gentle but determined demeanour won him a great deal of respect and admiration. He will be dearly missed. From this life cut tragically short, we can only take solace in the fact that Aneez left this world alongside his beloved Chanelle. Aneez is survived by his loving family: mother Nasim, father Shiraz, and brothers Riaz and Rahim. He also leaves behind a number of cherished friends and relatives. A funeral ceremony for Aneez will be held on Friday, February 13th, 2009 at 11:30 AM at Burnaby Lake Jamatkhana and Centre: 6556 Sprott St., Burnaby (junction of Kensington and Sprott).
