Karen Marie (Crossman) MacVicar was a daughter of Abagail (MacDonald) Lockie and the late Gordon Crossman.
She is survived by her husband, Ken MacVicar; and her son, Brendon Kyle Crossman, a student at Dalhousie of whom she was so proud. Karen is also survived by her mother and stepfather, Abagail and James Lockie, Dartmouth; sisters, Chris Lutley (Rob), Brookside, Rose Whyte (Terry), Unionville, Ont., Carol Edwards (Wayne), Brookside; brothers, Michael and Andrew (Alice) Crossman; sister-in-law, Cindy Crossman, all of Dartmouth. Karen is also survived by her mother-in-law, Marie MacVicar, Sydney; sisters-in-law, Nancy Drohan and Diane Miller, Sydney; brothers-in-law, Tommy, Wayne and Lorne MacVicar. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
She was a wonderful person and was incredibly strong and fought that awful disease so hard. Our lives, the world, is a much emptier place without her.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with service Wednesday at 2 p.m. both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception centre. Burial at a later date.
