William Farquar Curry passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He was a resident of MacGillivray Guest Home, and a former resident of Community Housing on Byng Avenue.
Born in Sydney, July 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Thomas W. Curry And Mary (MacLellan) Curry. A graduate of Sydney Academy, Bill was hospitalized most of his adult life as the result of an accident during his sophomore year at St. Francis Xavier University. He was an avid hockey fan throughout his life.
Bill is survived by his brother, Leo J. (Anne) Curry; sister, Avita Marie Curry, both of Sydney; nieces and nephews, Bill (Trina), Paula, Philip (Wendy), Dan (Michelle), Stephen (Debbie), Mary, Patti (Collin) and by numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by brother, Tommy and sister, Elizabeth.
Visitation for the late Mr. Curry will take place Tuesday, Jan. 26 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel from 7-9 p.m. and will continue at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the R.C. MacGillivray Guest Home where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Rankin officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Bay.
