It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Busch at Extendicare in Moose Jaw on January 24, 2010. Florence is predeceased by her parents, siblings Isabel Mullen of Lucknow, ON; Margaret Book of Loreburn, SK; Murdena Robinson of London, ON; George Beaton of Wingham, ON; Rebecca Culbert of Goderich, ON; and James Beaton of Lucknow, ON; nephew John Mullen, niece Arlene Culbert, and by Lyle Campbell, Robert Krogan, and Wilmer Busch. Florence leaves to mourn her children Allan (Ann) Campbell, Colleen Hayes, Linda Feddema, Craig (Lori) Krogan, Annilee Krogan, and Teresa (Dan) Krogan; her grandchildren Michelle (Scott), Elane, Bryan, Katelyn, Josh, Emily, Luke, Hannah, Elyse, Alison, Ellen, and Levi; her great-grandchildren Chase, Kaden, and Taylor; and the children of her sisters: Donna, Jean, Margaret Anne, Bob, Jim, Joyanne, Randy, Murdena, Bev, Lynn, and their families. Florence Marion Beaton was born south of Elbow on the homestead on December 22, 1928, to James B. Beaton and Annie (MacKay) Beaton. Florence shared many fond memories of family and critters at the farmstead. In 1938 the family began farming in the Lucknow, Ontario area. Widowed, Florence returned to Elbow and married Robert Krogan in 1955. She moved to Central Butte in 1975 where she most recently worked at Regency Manor. She deservedly retired and began her life with Wilmer Busch in Hodgeville in 1989. She moved to Moose Jaw in 2001. Florence was a Depression kid, but still loved the prairie; as she explained to a visiting, rather dusty and indignant Aunt Becky, “It gets in your blood.†She faced adversity and overcame it uncomplainingly, humming and singing. A Memorial Gathering will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. A private family interment will be held the following day at the Elbow Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing to do so may make a donation to the Saskatchewan Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 519 - 45th Street West, Saskatoon. In living memory of Florence, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
