JULIANNA HEINE (POLTAK)
Born In: Slovakia
Passed in: British Columbia, Canada
Passed away peacefully January 31, 2010. Born January 1, 1923 in Slovakia, predeceased by Marko Poltak and Richard Heine.
Lovingly remembered by son Lester Poltak (Guylaine Lees), daughter Catherine Colborne and grandchildren Celeste, Natalie, Adam and Sarah.
Julianna emigrated to Canada with her son in May 1950 and flourished as a dress designer seamstress. In 1973, Julianna, her husband Richard and daughter Catherine relocated to Whistler (Alta Lake) from Vancouver. Subsequently, they formed Telemark Enterprises, a successful local construction development company. The entire family and friends enjoyed the 25 years at their residence on Alta Lake in an area known affectionately as "Heineville". In 1995, the family built and operated the Holiday Inn Express in Kamloops for 10 years as a top tier perennial award winner for service with a dedicated and energetic staff and today, continues the same level of service at the Hospitality Inn in Kamloops. Julianna was a provider of much strength, generosity and opportunity to so many. The warmth of her light will shine on throughout the lives of her many friends and family.
Special thanks to Dr. Hoskins and staff at B.C.C.C. and the irrepressible Dr. Stanley Sunshine who left nothing undone in affording excellent care and comfort to our mother, grandmother and friend. During Julianna's most recent stay at Point Grey Private Hospital, she developed warm and comforting relationships with the attentive staff.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ The Redeemer Church on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., 595 Keith Road, West Vancouver, BC with interment to follow at Capilano View Cemetery, 1490 3rd Street, West Vancouver, BC.
