SARABIN - Mary late of Prince Albert, formerly of the Whitifield District passed away on February 3, 2010 in Prince Albert at the age of 87 years. Mary was born on August 10, 1922 in the Ukraine, the second oldest of nine children, immigrating to Canada at a young age. She married our dad, John on Oct 10, 1940. They farmed in Honeymoon until 1948 and then moved to Whitfield, They made many friends in both communities that have lasted a life time. Mom had a green thumb which resulted in a
beautiful garden every year. She was a great cook and baker and she fed anyone that came to visit. Berry picking was one of her favourite things. Babies were precious to her and she delighted in each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Poor health forced mom to move off the farm to Prince Albert in 1995. She made many new friends in her new home in Sherman Towers. Survived by her children: Ron (Vickie) of Whitfield, Pat (Ron) Coombs and Helen (Rick) Kindrachuk of Prince Albert
Grandchildren: Laurie (Rick) Folmer, Glenn (Susan) Coombs, Cindy (Gary) Soles, John (Erin) Sarabin, Kelly (Steve)Franklin, Mandy(Mark) Utley, Donna(Jeff) Kindrachuk, Lisa Kindrachuk and Natasha (Wes) Kindrachuk Great grandchildren: Bretton and Taylor Folmer, Lucas and Sydney Coombs, Amber and Brandi Soles, Emma, John, Jacob and Elizabeth; Sarabin,Ty, Cole and TJ Utley, Rhett Franklin, Maddyx Weiss, Isabelle Kindrachuk and Eden Cameron. Sisters Ann Evans of Vancouver, Evelyn Minduk of Singhampton, ON Brother Nick (Kathy) Soloway of Vancouver as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by: Her Husband John, Grandson Paul Sarabin in infancy, parents Fred and Maria Soloway, brothers
Andrew, George, Mike and two sisters in infancy.
Prayer Service will be Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 7:00 pm in Northern Funeral Service-MacMcKenzie Chapel, 130-9th Street East, Prince Albert. Courtesy parking across from funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 8 at 10:00 am in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Rev. Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
