On Wednesday, February 3, 2010 Frances Jane Merrifield, born June 26, 1919, passed on to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Her life was an example of determination, love, faith, and service to her Lord. Her death was an example of compassion, grace, and mercy; Praise be to our Father in Heaven.

Predeceased by her loving husband John after 62 years together on March 25, 2002; also her son Jim and two daughters, Janet and Linda Gail.

She leaves many blessed and fond memories to her daughter Carol Thompson (Don); three grandchildren, Kathleen Follweiter (Warren); Kimberly Dickinson (Mike) and Jim Thompson (Allison); and nine great grandchildren. Also her sister Arla-Mae Bakalyar (Donavan) and brother Al Metzger.

A Service of Remembrance and Prayer will be held at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church (2481 Sunset Drive) in Valleyview at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 10th, with Pastor Gordon Heselton officiating.

Friends and family wishing to honour Frances’ memory may do so with a gift to the Lord of Life Lutheran Memorial Fund (2481 Sunset Dr. Kamloops, BC V2C 4K1) or the Haiti Lutheran Mission Society (400 Glenridge Ave. St. Catherines, ON L2T 3L2).

A special thank you to Dr. Hollman who befriended and attended to Frances at home for the last few years while she was house bound and for the good care and compassion of the nurses in the ER and 6th south, Royal Inland Hospital.
