Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John’s on February 6, 2010, Carmel Coombs of Portugal Cove South, age 72 years. Predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years Alphonsus, parents William and Gertrude Finlay, brother Pat Finlay, and sister Mary Finlay. Leaving to mourn with many cherished memories; son Phonse Coombs (Viola); daughters: Darlene Hickey (Fergus); Sandra Hickey (Martin), Gertie Molloy (Sean), Cynthia Power (Tony), and Bernadette Crocker (Chris). Grandchildren: Jillian and Jenny Hickey, Jenelle and Kaitlyn Hickey, Samantha, Courtney and Rachel Coombs, April and Brittany Molloy, Earlene and Nicholas Power. Visitation: Monday February 8 from 3 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 9 from 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 10 from 10 a.m.-12 noon, with Mass of Christian burial to take place at 1 p.m. from Holy Redeemer Church, Trepassey.
