The death occurred on Monday, January 12, 2009, in Pickering, Ontario, of Brother Eugene Hughes, formerly of Dromore, in his 77th year and 51st year in religious life. Predeceased by his parents, Daniel J. and Mary (Mullen) Hughes; infant twin brother and infant sister; his sister, Sister Helen Hughes, CND; and brothers, Earl, Robert, Jack and Pius. He is survived by his sister, Agnes Arsenault (Julien), Brookline, MA; his brother, Emmett, Charlottetown; sisters-in-law, Eileen Hughes Larkin, Charlottetown; Anita Hughes, Stratford; Bernadette Hughes, Moncton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral took place in Pickering, Ontario, on Thursday, January 15, 2009, with interment at the Jesuit Cemetery, Guelph.
