NEW GLASGOW – It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing, due to a motor vehicle accident May 26, 2007, of Brent Fisher, age 35. Brent was a resident of Grande Prairie, AB., formerly of New Glasgow, NS. Born October 23, 1971, Brent was the elder son of Ivan and Ann (Watson) Fisher of New Glasgow. Survived by daughter, Karmyn Nicole (2 years) of Chase, B.C; sister, Heather and husband Theo van der Linde; nephew, Markus; nieces, Annika and Liesl of Bedford; brother, Greg and wife Angele; nephews, Luke and Liam of Hammonds Plains. He is also survived by grandfather, Harold Fisher of Oregon, USA, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins for whom he cared for deeply. Brent was a graduate of both Acadia University (BSc.) and TUNS (BEng. Mining). He began his career with Brunswick Mines in Bathurst, NB and later moved to Grande Prairie, AB to work with Trican Well Services. He worked as a Project Engineer for Trican in both Canada and Russia. Brent worked tirelessly in Russia to help better industry standards in both technological advancement and safety. He was known for his generosity and always made a point to help out everyone he cared for. He also had a very strong work ethic and his dedication to family was unmatched. Brent found his greatest happiness while spending time with his daughter. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 1 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Mr. Douglas Phillips officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in the Lorne Street Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Brent’s memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada or any charity of choice.
