Strang, Annie I. (Best) - died at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on the 24th of August, 2010. She was born on the 1st of October, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Brown) Best of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She grew up and attended school in Lower Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She was married to the late George Acheson Strang. They moved to Fredericton in 1945 where she resided until her death. Anne worked in her home, running a small day care for many years. Many of the children and their parents have remained friends and in close contact over the years. She was also well known for her excellent knitting and crocheting. There was a steady demand for her sweaters and handicrafts. Anne was a member of the St. Anne's Parish Church, Church of England. She was also an active member of the Kinsmen Senior Citizens Group. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Strang of Vancouver, British Columbia; her son, David W. Strang of Fredericton and his wife Patricia (Boone) and their two children, Scott and Katelyn of Fredericton. She is also survived by her 3 sisters, Mrs. John (Helen) Jackson of Oromocto, Mrs. Ronal (Kay) Pinch and Mrs. Charles (Arlene) Gratton of London, Ontario and numerous nephews and nieces. Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by an infant son Dennis Bruce, and an infant daughter Diana Joyce; her brothers, Arthur, Leslie O. and Donald Best of Wolfville, NS, and Frederick Best of Toronto, On; two half sisters, Martha Strong (Coldwell) and Vera Davidson (Coldwell) and a half brother Ralph Coldwell. A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 26th, 2010 at 10:00 am from McAdam's Funeral Home with reception following. Rev. Joyce Perry officiated. Interment in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
