TIBBITTS, Zandra "Diane"- 67, of Margaretsville passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 after a lengthy illness in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton.
She lived in Margaretsville, formerly from Halifax, Truro. She was a daughter of the late Frances (Bartlett Tibbitts) MacInnis of Truro. She is survived by sisters, Gail (Mrs. Frank Conrad) and Judy (Mrs. Art Prodger) both of Truro; brothers, Robert White, Fall River; Donald and Shawn, both of Truro; three nieces; two nephews; three grand nephews; one grand niece and good friend, Elaine Simms.
Diane attended Truro, Stellarton and Central Colchester schools. She was a graduate of the Camp Hill School of Nursing Assistants, registered in the Province of Nova Scotia and a graduate of ICS Schools for Automotive repairs and Gun repairs. Diane was a past member of the Nova Scotia Wildlife Association (Nova Scotia's Wildcat and Raccoon Club's first lady member), Dominion of Canada Rifle Association and the Nova Scotia Rifle Association. She was also a past member of the Federation of Railways; Nova Scotia Nurses Union and RCAMC, CWAC Militia, Halifax.
Diane was also the family historian. She worked at the VG Hospital Neurosurgery in the 1960's and the Halifax Infirmary for over 30 years in Emergency and other departments. She was an avid reader and outdoors person, when health permitted.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two nephews. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no service or visitation.
