
Burton Dexter Richards
Richards, Burton Dexter - 78, Bible Hill and formerly of Onslow Mountain passed away peacefully April 13, 2011 surrounded by his loving family in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Kemptown, he was a son of the late Robert and Laura (Hingley) Richards. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline; children, Wendy (Allan) Isenor, Truro, Debbie Leslie, Truro, Joanne (Douglas) Boyd, Bedford, Janice Richards, Halifax, Dale (Jane) Richards, Truro, Paul (Paula) Richards, Truro, Tony (Michelle) Richards, Onslow Mountain; grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda, Colin and Connor, Tyrone and Tyler, Julie and Dane, Rayleigh; great-grandchildren, Tyrone, Kaelyn and Niara; sisters, June (Harold) MacDonald, Thorburn, Jenine (Lloyd) Bryden, Kamloops, B.C.; brother, Floyd (Olga) Richards, Wetaskiwin, Alta.; sister-in-law, Jean Richards, Red Deer, Alta; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Curtis Richards; stepfather, John Matheson. Burton worked for the CN Railway for 37 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows in Stewiacke and the Masonic Lodge #43, AF&AM. Burton was a family man who you could always count on for advice and support. He especially loved spending time at home with his family. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15 from 7-9 pm; funeral services on Saturday, April 16 at 2 pm beginning with a Masonic Lodge Tribute Service, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Reception to follow the service. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
