It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Ryan of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 72 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Odilia; children Jeanette (Ben) VanWyck, Grimsby, Ontario, Michael (Sandra), Castor River North, Joanne (Andy), Port au Choix, Larry (Laurie), Burin Bay Arm, Judy, Corner Brook and Paul (Bonnie), River of Ponds; grandchildren William, Michaela, Melanie, Matthew, Emily, Olivia, Isabella, Noah, Sara, Hannah, Adam and Leo; brothers Raymond (Catherine), Patrick (Carrie), Gordon (Margaret) and Leo. He was predeceased by his parents Felix and Mildred, sisters Agnes and Laura, brothers Leonard and Kelvin, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday evening and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newfoundland Alzheimer’s Association.
