Ruth Rogers
Ruth Christine Rogers of the Findlay Dan Road, Thorburn died peacefully at home February 3, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Thorburn she was a daughter of the late John and Chris (MacDonald) Campbell.
Ruth was born and grew up in the community of Thorburn where she was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church.
During her working life Ruth had worked for Thompson and Sutherlands and later worked in the cafeteria at the Thorburn Consolidated School for 21 years. Ruth enjoyed gardening and her countless shopping trips to Bangor.
Surviving are her husband Gerald “Jerry” Rogers, Thorburn; daughters, Carla (Glen) MacEachern, Thorburn; Jill(Rene)Boudreau, Thorburn; sons, Jerry(Carole)Rogers, Ottawa; Kent(Angie)Rogers, Thorburn; grandchildren, Lindsay, Brandon,
Kelsey, Logan, Andrew, Kendell and Karlie, sisters, Betty Fraser, Amherst; Margaret MacIntosh, Westville; a brother, Jack(Marjorie) Cambpell, PEI; sisters-in law, Audrey and Joyce, good friends, Sherry English and Barb Palmer
Besides her parents Ruth was predeceased brothers, Gordon, Freddie and Archie, sisters Ina and Mary
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home 256 King St. New Glasgow.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Tuesday from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Thorburn with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the St. Ann’s Building Fund or to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
