Fielding, Wilbert Ernest “Webb” — 76, of Newport Station, Hants County. It was with great sadness that the family announced Webb’s passing at the Halifax Infirmary Site, Q.E. II Halifax, on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on February 14, 1935, in Newport Station, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Caldwell) Fielding. Webb retired in 1990 as manager of the Nova Scotia Liquor Store, Hantsport and was a former clerk at the Windsor Liquor store. Webb will always be remembered for his quick wit, loyalty, love of animals, washer-toss skills, his many hats and his many trips to Windsor. Webb is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Glenda Greenough; his daughter, Sherry (Brian) Eaton, Edmonton, Alberta; step grandchildren, Zach and Nick Eaton; siblings, Earl “Bub” (Audrey) Fielding, Newport Station; Marlene “Marl” Fielding, Newport Station; nieces, Donna (Laurie) Young and their children, Lauren and Joel; Sandra (Fred) Ward and their son, Jason; Carol (Jeff) Swinamer; Tracy (Bobbie) Fielding and their son, Nick. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Suzanne. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Memorial service was 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. A private family interment was in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Webb were requested to be made to the Hants Community Hospital Foundation, Windsor. Webb’s wife and daughter want to thank the many friends and family who gathered to support Webb and his loved ones during this difficult time.
