Surviving are his fiancée, Kimberley Wotherspoon, Meteghan Centre; sister, Lise, Meteghan Centre; brother, Daniel, Dartmouth; nieces, Émilie to whom he was Godfather and Gwen; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Robichaud and Chiasson sides. He will be missed by cats, Mia, Maui and Antonio. Marc was a dedicated individual who loved his Acadian community. He was the fifth generation to run UJ Robichaud TIM-BR Mart and it was his dream when he got to open his new store in Church Point. He worked for UJ Robichaud since he was 14, working in all aspects of the business including the yard, delivery fleet, mill, store counter and office. Marc was an entrepreneur, businessman, friend and a family person. He loved spending time outdoors, especially in Cape Breton in the Summer attending all the dances he could and driving down every dirt road he could find! He loved fiddle music, step dancing, archery and camping. Marc loved to travel. One of his favorite trips was hiking down a volcano in Maui with Kimberley. Marc proposed Christmas Eve in the hospital and they got to have a symbolic wedding at Marc’s bedside on January 10th before he passed away. Marc was very active in community organizations and a strong supporter of Acadian Culture and local events. He served on the board of directors of The Atlantic Building Supply Dealers Association from 2002 to 2005. He also served as president of the Chambre de commerce de Clare from 2005 to 2010 and as Vice President of the Conseil de dévelopment de la Nouvelle-Écosse from 2008 to 2009. He was also a current board member of the local Caisse Populaire de Clare and was on the financial committee of the local radio station, CIFA. Marc graduated a University Scholar from Acadia University in 1997. Upon his graduation, he was awarded the Bishop Medal for the highest GPA in the Faculty of Professional Studies as well as the Business School Medal for the highest GPA in the Acadia School of Business. Marc was co-owner and manager of the Front Street Café in Wolfville until it was lost to a fire in 1998. Special thanks to the staff of the ICU at Yarmouth Regional Hospital and the staff of 3A ICU and 8A Hematology at the VG Site, QE II in Halifax for their care and compassion during this time. Visitations were January 13 at Meteghan Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, with Rev. Albeni d’Entremont officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery after the procession took Marc for one last trip to UJ’s in Meteghan Center.
