Passed on: March 28th, 2012

It is with the heaviest of hearts that, we, the children of Yvonne Munro announce her peaceful passing in the intensive care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Millcreek, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Hazel (Marsh) Campbell.
She was a member of St. Joseph parish in Bras d’Or.
Yvonne was happiest getting up long before the sun to go to work. Her hands were never idle, cooking for her family and friends, many that she made along the way. She was a woman who embraced people with an open mind and an open heart; always there to nurture, comfort and love those she cared for most.
Yvonne is survived by her three children, Jimmy (Tammy), Wayne (Tracy), Tracey (Jody); and her grandchildren of whom she was so proud, Chris, Josh, Jessica, Jeffrey, William, Jordi and Sophie. They brought the greatest joy to her life. Yvonne is also survived by her four sisters, Geraldine (Murdock), Joan (Ivan), Brenda (Wayne) and Linda; three sisters-in-law, Betty (Ronnie) Campbell, Irene (Gordon) Crews, Ontario, Emma (Peter) MacLean; and one brother-in-law, Paul (Colleen) LeBlanc, Ontario; also three aunts, Veronica Butts, Josephine Campbell and Frances Jessome. She was loved and will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, Yvonne was predeceased by her loving husband, Billy and her brothers, Ronnie and Kevin (infant).
At her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A funeral mass celebrating her life will take place Saturday, March 31, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. A reception will follow at the Pensioners Hall in Bras d’Or.
Any donations in Yvonne’s memory can be made to the cancer centre or the regional hospital foundation. Family flowers only please.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at jmjobesfuneralhome@ns.aliantzinc.ca.
In the face of any adversity, Mom carried her many crosses in life, with the utmost strength, courage and determination, always with a smile for everyone. She was, in our minds, truly “The Salt of the Earth.”
