Ivan Howard Reid - 51, formerly of Canaan, Kings County, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 in New Minas. Born in Kentville, he was the son of Ruth (Oickle) Reid, Wolfville Nursing Home and the late Howard Reid. Ivan enjoyed working with his hands, especially stone work, woodworking and carpentry. He was a family man and loved going to the camp, the beach, fishing, singing and playing the guitar. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Sheena Reid, Inuvik, North West Territories and her mother, Vicki Reid, Kentville; Kelsey Morine-Reid, Kentville and her mother, Jillian Morine, Kentville; four sisters, Betty (Daniel) Reid-Phillips, Kentville; Diane (Murray) MacBride, Canning; Joyce Reid-Rogers, Berwick; Faye Reid, Kentville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Pastor Brian Reid officiating. A reception will follow in the South Alton Community Centre. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
