It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden and tragic passing of Fergus Tyler MacKinnon on Saturday, May 12, 2012, due to a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Sydney, he was the beloved son of Fergus MacKinnon and Carla Ann Flynn and big brother to Lynda Paige and Chase Dean Alexander.
Tyler was a Grade 12 student at Sydney Academy who was known for his love of everything cars and trucks. He enjoyed stock car racing (especially Dad’s #84), four wheeling, driving on his dirt bike and hanging out teasing his sister Paige and wrestling his little brother or “mini-me” Chase. He loved spending time camping on the Mira with his “BUD” Kyle who was like a second dad to him. He was the son his grandfather (Jidee) never had and dearly adored by his aunts who loved to spoil him rotten. He spent most of his time with the friends he loved as madly as they loved him. “Fergie Ferg” was famous for being the guy who would do anything for his friends and being the life of the party wherever he was. He was the kind of guy who always had your back and was well known as an amazing person who kept everyone laughing and smiling with his million dollar smile and infamous sense of humour. He had an adventurous spirit and a thirst for fun and excitement like no one else. He will always be loved and remembered and sadly missed forever by the many that had the privilege to know him. Besides his parents and siblings, he is survived by his grandparents Patricia ‘Patsy’ Flynn (Hugh ‘Gooie’ Nicholson), George Flynn (Ida Luther-Flynn), Edna and Fergie MacKinnon, great-grandmother, Linda Flynn; aunts, Natalie (Andrew) Doherty, Ashley Flynn, Gina Flynn, Lindsey Leterte and only uncle, Kyle MacKinnon (Heather Jones) and cousin, Kieran Doherty as well as his pets, Callie and Champ.
He is also survived by his great aunts and uncles, Jane Kennedy (Gary Brophy) and several other aunts, uncles and cousins, who were all an important part of Tylers’ life.
Tyler was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Jennie and Colin MacDonald, Raymond Flynn, Mary and Arthur MacKinnon and Pearl and Tom Dicks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, or another charity of choice benefiting children.
