It is with sadness that the family of Carl Stanley McFadden age 56 of Amherst announce his passing on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst, NS he was a son of the late Pearlie and Roberta (Stevens) McFadden.
Carl lived in England for a few years when he was younger. He worked as a welder in Ontario and as a radio announcer in Charlottetown and Fredericton, NB.
Carl is survived by one son Jason (Caitlyn) of Amherst, one daughter Jennifer Clarke (McFadden) of Amherst and their mother Donna, 3 grandchildren Alyssa, Raymond and Austin, 3 brothers Sidney of Amherst, Fred (June) of Parrsboro and Gary of Amherst, 1 sister Leona Remington of Amherst, sister in law Barb McFadden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by 2 brothers Pearlie Jr. and Harvey John and one sister Jean Crowe.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Amherst Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Cole officiating.
Following the graveside service a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at Gary McFadden's home at 26 Christie St., Amherst.
Memorial donations in Carl's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
