Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, May 19, 2012, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, Ruby Joan Oliver, aged 73 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband David F. Oliver; parents Harry and Sadie Rollings; sisters: Florence Bergman, Lillian Elka and sister-in-law Genevieve Rollings. Leaving to mourn daughter Deborah; sons: Tony (Bev), Paul and David; her dearly loved grandchildren: Stephanie Sturge, Alex and Adam Marshall and Benjamin Oliver; step-grandchildren: Dustin and Dylan Forbes; sisters and brothers: Edith Laite (Mike), Walter Rollings, Shirley Waddell (Bob), Marjorie Babin (John), Ron Rollings (Teresa) and Sandra Wells (Ray); brother-in-law Brian Oliver (Pat); sisters-in-law: Bernice Lewis (Charles) and Jeanne Gosse (Ian); also dear lifelong friends: Helen Noftall, Helen Reid, Mary Clarke, Kay Browne, Mary Veitch, Ruby Hunt; dear close friend George Price; members of the Bergman and Breault families; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses on 4 West, 6 West and 7 West of St. Clare’s, who took such great care of her, especially Dr. Hiscock, Dr. Reddy and Dr. Iqbalis. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
